Everything about Leyland Hundred totally explained

The Leyland hundred, or Leylandshire, was a hundred of the English county of Lancashire. It covered Brindle, Chorley, Croston, Eccleston, Leyland, Penwortham and Standish. In the Domesday Book it was recorded as 'Lailand' hundred which was included in the returns for Cheshire. However, it can't be said clearly to have been part of Cheshire.
